It was a thought provoking book. I just today had to give up a freebie to a luxury lodge in the Amazon together with the family, as the doctor distinctly advised against my 6 months pregnant wife to go. My wife stoically said I should go anyway. Decided not to go. After all we were supposed to have a holiday together this Gunnar Engblomhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11895152038616387752noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9336879.post-32369680689212878842009-05-05T16:51:00.000-04:002009-05-05T16:51:00.000-04:00NEWSFLASH: OK, make that HAD a job at Audubon. By the chapters covering the early 90's, I was doing more recoiling than admiring. Obsession is rarely pretty when examined closely. Gentile does a great job of helping us see that emotional toll, and putting a mirror up to ourselves. It's a very thoughtful and thought-provoking work.Julie Zickefoosehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06654698829603424649noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9336879.post-74187197864752611272009-05-05T14:33:00.000-04:002009-05-05T14:33:00.000-04:00Very nicely written Rob, I can't wait for the book...Very nicely written Rob, I can't wait for the book. I love birds, and the natural world, but luckily for me, I know where my priorities lie, firmly with my family. As much as I'd love to see every bird on earth I wouldn't trade that for the time away from those I love.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9336879.post-2284569935725398842009-05-05T13:58:00.000-04:002009-05-05T13:58:00.000-04:00Ah, yes... It is really hard for us right know as we try to balance soccer games, college applications and family committments with spring migration.

Keeping our obsession in check...
L&WWarren and Lisa Strobelhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00941785932371294899noreply@blogger.com
