The wind was still blowing this morning, but the birds were much more active, and I ended up with 30 species on my walk--including the elusive
Red-breasted Nuthatch that I see occasionally in my neighborhood, and a singing male
Rusty Blackbird, which is new for my year list and my 2008
BIGBY list. I'm used to seeing this bird in its winter colors, so nice to see that glaring yellow eye against the glossy black breeding coat (image:
Glen Tepke).
