Thursday afternoon I had to head over to meetings in Elgin, so I took the Box Canyon Road cutoff over the Santa Ritas. Not a lot of birds, but some new year birds at a couple stops--
Black-chinned Sparrow, Bewick's Wren, Eastern Meadowlark, and
Bushtit.
