Today a Black-headed Siskin, a Mesoamerican bird, was found for the first time north of Mexico on South Padre Island in Texas. More info here and photos here. Wish you were in Texas?

SPI gets all kinds of crazy stuff, including presumed wild West Mexican birds sometimes (Got my lifer Aztec Thrush out there). And there was the eleania there last year. It'll be interesting to see what folks'll say about this one.
