In case you missed the news, there was a major bird kill event in Beebe, Arkansas. Over 3,000 grackles and blackbirds fell from the sky on New Years Eve. What caused this bird kill?
Yeah, it's a scary world out there.
Good thing I found this photo at the feline underground to help confirm this source of the mystery deaths!

my guess was tornado
I solved it by intercepting this exchange on my shortwave:
Grackle Two: [birds are running the gauntlet toward Bebe] The fireworks - they've stopped!
Starling Five: [realizes why] Stabilize your rear deflectors... Watch for enemy fighters.
Gold Leader: They're coming in! Three marks at 2-10!
[Grackle Two is slain; Gold Leader starts to panic]
Gold Leader: It's no good, I can't maneuver!
Starling Five: Stay on target.
Gold Leader: *We're too close!*
Starling Five: Stay on target!
Gold Leader: [shouts] Loosen up!
[he too is picked off; Starling Five tries to escape but is fatally winged]
Starling Five: Starling Five to Red-wing leader, lost Tiree, lost Dutch.
Red-wing Leader: I copy, Gold Leader.
Starling Five: It came from... behind! A loud purring sound!
hee hee...first they go after the birds..then the fish..what next..will they be raiding pet food stores?
