Day 9: 30 Day Species Challenge

Cool mushrooms I still need to identify, Rosemont College, PA

So the last couple of days have been a little hectic.  Friday I picked up a few birds as nocturnal migrants recorded at my home, as well as my first reptile--an Eastern Painted Turtle.  Saturday morning I taught my Diversity of Life course at Rosemont College in Philly--slow morning for new species, mostly a couple of plants, a milipede, water striders, and Carolina Chickadee were new on campus.  Then I got sucked into meetings at church all afternoon and evening, as well as Sunday morning.

Monday I had to teach at East Stroudsburg University, but I picked up Killdeer on my way home as a new bird for the month.  Then shopping at Target in the evening I was able to find some additional cool species--including two red algae species used as ingredients in fruit drinks and ice cream.

I still have a some cool moths and other insects to ID from the past few nights, as well as night flight call recordings to go through, so the totals from these days will go up eventually.
